Joshua Joel Ortiz is a Filipino-American filmmaker who has directed projects for Netflix, HBO, The National Basketball Players Association, NBCUniversal, Dan Lin’s Rideback Rise and more.

His professional career began in 2015 on the HBO TV show “Project Greenlight,” where industry veterans Ben Affleck and Matt Damon awarded Josh “Most Unique Short Film” for his film Listen. In 2016, his short film Wake Up was selected out of 1,500 entries and had a special screening at the Cannes Film Festival.

He recently worked as the in-house filmmaker at Universal Studios Hollywood, where he directed and edited for properties like Super Nintendo World, Dreamworks, and Universal Pictures.

Josh is open to feature, television and commercial opportunities, and is ready to take his years of storytelling experience to whatever comes next. He and his wife Valeri Ortiz, a composer, live in Los Angeles.
